The Bobby Miller Activity Center, located in Newt Hinton Park off of 69 S in Taylorville, opened September 1, 2006 and was dedicated on September 10, 2006.  Features include a gym with multipurpose flooring, a community room, a multipurpose room, a catering kitchen, a fitness/cardiovascular room with workout equipment, heated indoor therapeutic and recreational pools, locker rooms, and a suspended walking track.  This center also features the Taylorville Brown Branch of the Tuscaloosa County Public Library on the second level.

Stride with Pride
Enjoy getting your exercise in indoor comfort on our walking track and treadmills! Participants in the Walking Challenge will count their steps using a pedometer.  Join the six-week challenge with your friends or family and make it more fun!

QuickStart Tennis
QuickStart Tennis is an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the sport by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter courts and fun warm-up games to keep them active.  For kids ages 6-9 (call for exceptions). All equipment is provided.  Classes are small and held indoors in our air-conditioned gym.  Parent or guardian may use the walking track or library during the class.

Fall Indoor Garage Sale
Plan ahead -- Clean out your closets and take advantage of the convenience and comfort of our air-conditioned gym to sell your unwanted stuff. Booths sell out so be sure to register early.  Shoppers, do not miss this – PARA garage sales are like an indoor flea market, great for bargain hunting, rain or shine!

Holiday Gift & Small Business Show
Designed to provide an opportunity for artists, handcrafters, sales reps and small businesses to market their products in time for holiday gift shopping.  Shoppers will find something special for everyone on their gift list!  Vendors, plan ahead and register early, booths do sell out!

Taylorville Brown Branch of the Tuscaloosa Public Library
Located on the 2nd floor of the Miller Center, the Brown Branch Library offers fun and educational programs for pre-school children, youth, teens and adults.  Please visit www.tuscaloosa-library.org or call 205-391-9989 for library hours and program information.  Library events are free and open to the public.
