PARA's Model Airfield is located in Sokol Park North, on Watermelon Road.

Events scheduled at the Model Airfield including various Model Airplane Demonstrations and Shows plus the Annual Fall Fly-In.

The Ray C. Jenkins Multipurpose Arena is located in Sokol Park, on Watermelon Road. The facility is ideal for a wide variety of outdoor events, including automobile or boat shows, horse shows and competitions, rodeos, outdoor movies, and more.  The property features a lighted show ring/arena, practice rings, large green spaces, concession/restroom building and a permanent press box.  A Special Permit Application must be submitted to PARA for all rental requests for the multi-purpose arena.

Garden Plots are available for rent at the Community Garden Plots, located in Sokol Park.  Each plot is 30’x50’ and has a 2-foot walkway.  Water is available on site.  Call PARA at (205) 562-3210 for more information on Garden Plot rentals.

Cost: $60 per plot for March 1-December 31

PARA's Disc Golf Course

Fun and challenging in hilly, wooded terrain. Features 3 open holes and 15 in beautiful woods. Three holes are positioned along a creek. All holes have 3 carpeted teepads for all skill levels. Poison ivy in summer - dress accordingly.

Located in Bowers Park

Exit off I-20/59 at HWY 82/McFarland Blvd. (Exit 73) and go north. Turn right at the first light on James I. Harrison, Jr. Parkway. Look for the brown park sign and park gates to main entrance on left. Enter the park gates and the course is just before the ball fields on the left. The first tee & message board is on the left (near intersection) in large open field, but that road is one-way, so circle ball fields to parking lot.

 Indoor pools are open year-round and admission is included in a center membership or may be accessed on a per-visit basis for a $5 casual user fee.

**There is a $100 deposit required for all pool rentals.  Deposits are forfeited when any deviation from guidelines/rules occur.  All monies will be receipted and deposited.  Deposit amount will be returned within 10 - 12 business days, provided that no deviation from guidelines/rules occurred.  Rental party assumes complete responsibility for damages and accidents occurring in the pool area during rental period.
