Features include 2 gyms (one with multipurpose flooring & one with conventional hardwood flooring), a suspened walking track overllooking the gym (1/10 mile), a cardiovascular fitness area, a community room, an aerobics/fitness/dance room, 2 multipurpose rooms and a catering kitchen.

Center Description
The Faucett Brothers Activity Center is the largest of PARA’s activity centers at approximately 55,000 square feet.
Some of the major features are separate indoor recreational and therapeutic pools, a fitness room with equipment, a rock climbing wall, a spin room, a gym and a suspended walking track.

Monday-Friday: 6:00am-9:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am-8:00pm
Sunday: 1:00pm-5:00pm

The McDonald Hughes Community Center was acquired by PARA in December 1997 and a new addition was dedicated on June 13, 1999. Features include a gym with multipurpose flooring, a cardiovascular/fitness area, a large multipurpose banquet hall that divides into two seperate areas, a conference room, multipurpose rooms, a craft room, a catering kitchen and a commercial kitchen. Three outdoor regulation ballfields are located in the park adjacent to the center.

The Leroy McAbee, Sr. Activity Center, situated adjacent to the VA hospital, opened April 1, 1998. Features include a gym with multipurpose flooring, a cardiovascular fitness area, a community room, an aerobics/dance room, a multipurpose room, a meeting room, a spacious courtyard/patio, a catering kitchen, and the Dr. James R. Dockery Indoor Therapeutic/Fitness Pool which was dedicated July 4, 1998.

The Bobby Miller Activity Center, located in Newt Hinton Park off of 69 S in Taylorville, opened September 1, 2006, and was dedicated September 10, 2006. Features include a gym with multipurpose flooring, a community room, a multipurpose room, a catering kitchen, a fitness/cardiovascular room with workout equipment, heated indoor therapeutic and recreational pools, locker rooms and a suspended walking track. This center also features the Taylorville Brown Branch of the Tuscaloosa County Public Library on the second level.

The Mary Ann Phelps Activity Center, located in Rock Quarry Park, opened February 1, 1998 and was dedicated June 18, 1998. Features include a community room and outdoor patio with scenic views of Lake Tuscaloosa,a catering kitchen, 2 meeting rooms, an aerobics/dance room, a suspended walking track (1/16 mile), a gym with multipurpose flooring and 2 fitness/cardiovasular rooms.
