YOUTH ATHLETICS 
PARA offers youth athletic teams for girls basketball, boys basketball, developmental soccer, girls softball, cheerleading and football. Come join our team!

Teams may rent practice courts and fields through PARA. All PARA centers have indoor multipurpose courts; inquire at each facility for court fees. Field reservations may be made at any PARA office and is based on a 2-hour time period. For field rental rates see the parks section of our site (link parks to that page).

| Tuscaloosa United Soccer Club 119701 |
Juniors (U4): One session per week: Choice of Monday or Thursday at Sokol North or Sunday afternoon at Bobby Miller Center
The introduction of the U4 program is to enable both boys and girls that turn three on/before 8/1/11 the opportunity to take part in a fun and semi-structured session of skill-building games with a soccer focus. Players will actively participate in fun skill games that begin to establish the foundation of what will become future soccer oriented skills (body awareness, agility, passing, dribbling, field awareness, ability to manipulate the ball.)
Tuscaloosa United Academy (Developmental Soccer): Practices and Games held on Tuesdays and Thursdays
For young players and players new to the sport of soccer, the academy program offers excellent instruction in basic soccer skills, an introduction to team play and emphasis on individual skill development. Players receive significant one-on-one instruction and the opportunity to play in small-sided games. Age groups (U5-U8)
Tuscaloosa United Soccer League (Recreational Soccer): Practices held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with games on Saturdays
For players with some soccer background and experience and with an interest in playing soccer on local teams, TUSL offers recreational soccer with an emphasis on continued individual skills development and rudimentary team play. Players will practice with their assigned teams and receive additional skills instruction. Age groups (U9-U12)

Born on or after 8/1/2000 and before 8/1/2001: U-11 Age Group
Born on or after 8/1/2001 and before 8/1/2002: U-10 Age Group
Born on or after 8/1/2002 and before 8/1/2003: U-9 Age Group
Born on or after 8/1/2003 and before 8/1/2004: U-8 Age Group
Born on or after 8/1/2004 and before 8/1/2005: U-7 Age Group
Born on or after 8/1/2005 and before 8/1/2006: U-6 Age Group
Born on or after 8/1/2006 and before 8/1/2007: U-5 Age Group
Born on or after 8/1/2007 and before 8/1/2008: U-4 Age Group
| Safe Haven Youth Basketball 120203 |
The Safe Haven Youth Basketball League is for kids ages 5-13. Teams play a seven game regular season and a single elimination post-season tournament.
The coaches meeting is November 7 at 6pm at the McDonald Hughes Community Center.

Tackle football program for ages 5-12. Registration is according to the local school zones. The league is divided into three divisions:
Instructional (ages 5-8)
Division I (ages 9-10)
Division II (ages 11-12)
Teams play a 6 game regular season and single elimination post season tournament. There are no weekend or travel games. Each team is limited to the first 30 registered participants.

Age Groups: 6 and Under, 8 and Under, 10 and under and 12 and Under
Cost: $120
Registration on Saturday, February 4th from 9 am - 12 pm at the Belk Activity Center. Registration will continue until teams meet roster needs.
Home games and practices are at Sokol Park.
| Volleyball Lessons 402189 |
These classes are for girls in the 6th-8th grades. Students will have opportunities to learn or improve basic volleyball skills. The instructor coaches Junior High and Varsity at Tuscaloosa Christian School & won the State Championship in 2011. She has been coaching volleyball for over 10 years and has been the official scorekeeper for UA volleyball since 1998.
