Speed & Agility For Athletes

Speed & Agility for Athletes is designed to provide several benefits for athletes of any sport as the fall sports seasons approach.  Participants will recieve SIX one hour sessions in this program.


Benefits & Goals of Speed & Agility for Athletes:

  • Improve reaction time
  • Develop 1st step explosive ability
  • Build lateral and linear explosiveness
  • Increase dynamic flexibility
  • Promote self-confidence

Clinic Information:

  • Speed & Agility for Athletes will be held on the Sokol Multipurpose fields across from the entrance to Ol’ Colony Golf course.
  • Participation is open to all athletes in grades 3-12.
  • The fee for the clinic is $120 per participant.


  • Sessions will be held on the following dates:

o   7/22/TUE, 7/24/THU, 7/26/SAT, 7/29/TUE, 7/31/THU, 8/2/SAT

  • Grades 3-6 will attend each session from 9:30-10:30am
  • Grades 7-12 will attend each session from 11:00am-12:00pm.


  • The deadline for registration is Monday, July 21st

Back 2 School Camp (119703-F)

July 28-August 1 | 8:30am-12:00pm | Bobby Miller Center

Offers recreational players a final summer tune up before school begins.  This camp offers five days of soccer and swimming to finish out the summer.  Supervised swimming time will follow each session.

Ages 4 to 12 as of August 1, 2014

Fee: $100


Fall 2014 Programs Information


Juniors (U4):

The purpose of the Juniors Program is to enable young boys and girls the opportunity to take part in a fun and semi-structured session of skill building games with a soccer focus.  Players will actively participate in fun skill games that begin to establish the foundation of what will become future soccer oriented skills (body awareness, agility, passing, dribbling, field awareness, ability to manipulate the ball).  The Juniors Program is only open to those in the U4 age group or those who are at least three years of age as of the registration deadline.

Players will choose one session per week from a list of scheduling options.

Tuscaloosa United Academy (Developmental Soccer U5-U8):

Practices and Games held on Tuesdays and Thursdays For young players and players new to the sport of soccer, the academy program offers excellent instruction in basic soccer skills, an introduction to team play and emphasis on individual skill development. Players receive significant one-on-one instruction and the opportunity to play in small-sided games. Age groups (U5-U8)

Tuscaloosa United Soccer League (Recreational Soccer U9-U14):

Practices held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with games on Saturdays For players with some soccer background and experience and with an interest in playing soccer on local teams, TUSL offers recreational soccer with an emphasis on continued individual skills development and rudimentary team play. Players will practice with their assigned teams and receive additional skills instruction. Age groups (U9-U13)

ELITE Soccer Program:

The Elite Program is designed to serve the needs of the advanced player, providing high level skills training and competitive team play in the Alabama Youth Soccer Association (AYSA) State League.  The program is designed for the experienced player who has attained the requisite level of skill necessary to compete at the highest levels of competitive soccer in Alabama.

Flag Football


Individual and team registration is available online at or in person at any PARA Office. Space is limited. The registration fee is $65 per child. Age Cutoff: August 1st


Practice times and locations to be determined by coaches. Games will be played at Sokol North Complex on Monday evenings.

The First Annual PARA 3-on-3 Summer Basketball League will begin the week of June 2nd. The season will run seven weeks and will skip the week of July 4th. The last week will be a single elimination tournament with the division champion winning t-shirts.

$55 per player
Registration: Deadline to register teams is May 30, 2014. Registration forms can be turned in at PARA Offices

All players must play in the grade level that they will be in during the 2014-2015 school year. Teams will not be combined with different divisions. Girl teams will not be included in the Boy division. We must have at least six teams to form a league. Teams will designate a Team Manager to complete the registration process and monitor games.

West End Baseball League 120210

Recreational baseball program that emphasizes a fun and positive learning environment at an affordable price for both boys and girls ages 3-6. Teams play an 6 game season with games held at the McDonald Hughes Center baseball fields

Tackle Football 120201


Tackle football program for ages 6-12.  Registration is according to the local school zones.  The league is divided into three divisions:

Instructional (ages 6-8)

Division I (ages 9-10)

Division II (ages 11-12)

Teams play a 6 game regular season and single elimination post season tournament.  There are no weekend or travel games.  Registration deadline is August 8th, but each team is limited to the first 28 registered participants.

Cost: $85 per child, includes game jersey

Necessary equipment:  helmet, chin strap, mouth piece, shoulder pads, practice jersey, football pants, leg pads (hip, thigh, knee, and tail), and cleats

Show your team spirit with PARA Cheerleading!  We cheer for PARA tackle football and PARA flag football.  The season starts  August 26th & 27th with the clinic at the Belk Center, and the first game is September 8th at Sokol Park.  Clinic is being conducted by Bryant High Cheerleaders.

Registration is $125, which includes the clinic and full uniform.

Partnership with UOC Sports Medicine

PARA is proud to announce a partnership with UOC Sports Medicine to help keep our athletes safe from head injury and concussion.  As part of this initiative, UOC will provide concussion and head injury awareness training for coaches and parents and UOC Athletic Trainers will be present at select PARA programs & activities.
