PARA to Charge Fees at Two Boat Launches
May 23, 2018, 1:13pm
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority announces effective immediately, it will require boat launch fees at Rock Quarry Boat Landing and Sharpe’s Landing. Signage and donation boxes have been placed onsite explaining the procedure.
The fee is $5 per day or annual Outdoor Membership is $125 with a one-time $25 processing fee. A daily proof of purchase or hangtag must be prominently displayed on the dashboard of all trailered vehicles. A fee is required for anyone using a ramp lane regardless of where you park your vehicle or trailer.
The fees will help PARA monitor and maintain the boat landings. “A launch fee is consistent with other boat landing fees in the community and state,” said Gary Minor, PARA executive director. “This will help cover a portion of the operations and maintenance cost of the boat launches.”
Three other boat landings maintained by PARA will remain free of charge and include Binion Creek Landing, Fosters Boat Landing, and Riverview Boat Landing. The Moundville Boat Landing is no longer maintained by PARA.
