TUSL (U5-U8) is a recreational soccer program designed for young and new players. It offers instruction in basic soccer skills, introduction to team play, and an emphasis on individual skill development. Over the course of the program, players will learn soccer fundamentals through skill based games, activities, scrimmages, and small sided games.
This program is coached by highly motivated, enthusiatic, and trained TUSC staff coaches that include volunteers, parents, and students.
Teams are formed according to age and gender.
This program includes players born 2011-2014.
TUSL (U5-U8) is offered at Sokol North Complex at Munny Sokol Park and at Newt Hinton Muiltipurpose Field at Bobby Miller Center.
Registration is now open for this program. A valid birth certificate must be on file at PARA for a player to participate. You may register online if you have a valid birth certificate on file as a prerequisite in your household. Alternatively, registration is available in person at any Tuscaloosa County PARA Office during office hours (8a-5p, M-F).
Early Registration Deadline: Friday January 25
Late Registration Deadline*: Friday, February 1
The fee for the TUSL (U5-U8) program is $140 per participant. The fee includes practices, games, and two soccer jerseys.
*A $25 late fee will apply January 26-February 1.
Birth certificate is required.
For each session, players should wear comfortable clothing inlcuding shin guards and soccer socks. Players should also bring a size 3 soccer ball, and something to drink to each session.
Players will be provided two soccer jerseys to wear for games.
Parents may wish to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sessions for seating.
There will be a parent meeting to discuss the upcoming season at the Phelps Activity Center. Times for this meeting will be announced shortly.
