At the Conclusion of tryouts, players will be placed in one of the following categories:

• Top-level team for their school zone 
• Secondary level team or team for their school zone 
• Recommendation to play in the recreational league to hone skills 
• Play on an “assembled team” in the assembled teams division (read more below)

About the Capstone League Conferences

Druid City Conference – At the conclusion of tryouts, coaches will select as many as 10 stand-out players to form teams. These teams will play in the top-level conference. The Druid City Conference was named in honor of the late Paul Robbins who recently passed away. His league, the Druid City Basketball League, thrived for many years in Tuscaloosa and ultimately became part of our league in 2020. Robbins worked tirelessly coaching Tuscaloosa children to ensure that they thrived in a competitive environment. 

Black Warrior Conference – At the conclusion of tryouts, players chosen for the secondary level will play in this conference and represent their school zone. Based on the number of children signed up in a grade, more than one team may be formed in this conference for a particular school zone. Coaches will collaborate to equitably form teams.

Assembled Teams Conference – At the conclusion of tryouts, players who either do not make school zone teams or do not want to play for school zone teams, may be chosen by coaches to form teams. These players do not have to be in the same school zone to play together. Coaches will collaborate to choose players. No more than 12 players on each roster. These teams will not be able to practice at any school affiliated gyms through the TBA.
