Competitive Basketball

Mission/Purpose

PARA will provide an opportunity for youth of Tuscaloosa County to participate in an organized league of basketball. This league will endeavor to teach participants good sportsmanship, team work, and the fundamentals of Basketball under the guidance of qualified adult leadership.

The Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority will adhere to current Federal CDC, state ADPH, and local health guidelines as well as the Alabama High School Athletics Association AHSAA, when administering and coordinating public safety in our facilities for youth and adult athletic events when dealing with the public in regards to public health and safety.

Grades 2-7

Leagues within the program

2/3 Grade, 4/5 Grade, 6/7 Grade

Age Cutoff

Leagues are grade appropriate. No player can play for a grade if they are more than a year older than what is typical for that grade.

Cost

$1300 per team

Roster size

Coaches can sign up 10 players. Max roster size is 10. PARA can assign free agents to eah team submitting a roster of less than 10.

Key elements of the program

This will be a highly competitive league. Players/teams who sign up for this league should only sign up if they as a team and individual display a mastery level of play for each age group. These teams will play locally with the opportunity to play other competitive teams in other markets as well.

How to Register

The Head Coach of each team will submit a completed roster along with payment for the full team. Individual free agents may register for free as a free agent for competitive and then settle up with the team once/if they are placed on a competitive roster.
