PARA Youth Cheerleading

SHOW YOUR TEAM SPIRIT WITH PARA CHEERLEADING!

PARA introduces it's NEW courtside pep-squad program, cheering on our thriving youth basketball teams. Wear the colors and mascot of your zoned school, and cheer for a PARA youth basketball team. Ready, OKAY! 

Program fee includes uniform, pom-poms, bloomers, pre-season clinics and season.

You will need your own tennis shoes (white preferred but not required), socks, bow, water bottle, bag, etc. (Coaches will provide accessory specification preferences & details once the season starts!)

MANDATORY Uniform Fitting & Pre-Season Practice Clinics:

CHEER CLINICS: 

Nov. 24 NO PRACTICE — Happy Thanksgiving!

Dec. 1 6:30-7:30PM — Location TBA* — Uniform pick-up (bloomers, poms, skirt - tops not here yet)

• • Learn chants, jumps, motions, dance and basic skills for the season

• • Chant & dance video library will be available post-clinic to coaches and parents (Band app link at bottom of this page below!)

Dec. 7 11AM-3PM (Sign-up for 3 min slots coming Dec. 1)

UNIFORM FITTING: Oct. 27 Northridge High School 5:30-7:30PM (before & during clinic)

In-person uniform fitting required! Please wear swim suit or fitted athletic sports bra & bike shorts/bloomers for fitting purposes. 

** If you are unable to make the in person fitting on Oct. 27th, you must supply your child's chest, waist and hips measurement by Oct. 29th at 6:00PM at the LATEST! 

Season Information:

- Follows the PARA TBA Youth Basketball Season Schedule

- Season schedule released by November 22

- Games begin on or after Dec. 6th

- Season championship & conclusion mid February

Time Commitment:

- One to two games per week (potentially one weekday and one Saturday) depending on squad preference - up to coaches! Most squads are choosing to do one game per week on Saturdays and practicing before the game once the season starts.

- Practice time and location up to cheer coaches (practice then play model suggested to limited number of nights per week of commitment) 

The goal is to get your money's worth out of the uniform and HAVE FUN without feeling overcommitted. We want girls to be able to experience other activities and sports while getting a taste of cheer and falling in love!

COACHES & ASSISTANTS NEEDED!

Attention moms, community members, former cheerleaders & friends — volunteer coaches are needed for the 2025-2026 cheer season! We'll provide everything you need (clinic, library of chants & dance, cheer list, etc.) you'll just be responsible for coordinating practice and supervising the squad during games courtside! 

It's recommended to have at least 2-3 volunteer coaches per squad to share responsibilities in case someone is sick or out for any reason.
